HEADED TO LOS ANGELES?! WHAT? Email 12/24/2014

MONDAY, so i said goodbye to everyone because i am headed to Los Angeles Vitarte! to finish training Elder Vinces!!! cool! We will see how this goes!!!
TUESDAY, my area is awesome. I am in los angeles california. haha. jk. It is a nice area. Really calm and there are a lot of parks. The pension is great. Shes really young. She and her husband are return missionaries. They are the best. My comp is Elder Vinces and he is a recent convert. he was baptised like a year ago. pretty. cool!.
WEDNESDAY, today i got to know a couple people. There is a hippi in this ward who speaks 5 languages including english. He is the coolest, but also a little strange. He went with us to do visits and as he was talking he switched languages and started talking in english. haha. Then something cool, we talked to the bishop and he had a list of all the elders that had visited his home and matt davidsons cousin was on the list. The one that served here! cool! small world.
THURSDAY, today we had zone mtg. Elder dykman is now my zone leader. Cool. There are also 3 pairs of sister missionaries here and are all in my district haha. cool. Then after i had to stay home with Elder Juarez he is in our room and he has a bad back and couldnt walk, anyway long story short i had to stay with him.
FRIDAY, we had a mtg in la molina for all the trainees, with president. It was really cool and i learned a lot about how to train and what to expect and it was sweet being able to hear from President Boswell. He is soo cool.
SATURDAY, we talked to this guy who basically has the bible memorized. It was interesting. Really cool actually. Just he didnt believe us about the B of M or that we lived with God before this life, but it was good.
SUNDAY, church! The ward is nice. We started way late though and i also gave a talk on the Book of Mormon and repentance. Which was cool. Then after we had a Christmas devotional where we as a zone sang with a choir and stuff. It was sooooo cool and President Boswell came. it was amazing. The spirit was super strong there. I sent some pics of us in our santa hats. haha.
well thats about it for this week! thank you all for everything! i love you all and MERRY CHRISTmas!!!!!!!!!

THE FRUITS-FINALLY! Email 12/15/2014

Hola Familia,
Ok so MONDAY, p day! We just played a little ping pong and soccer and we also finished up the service project. We still had a couple things that we had to do.
TUESDAY, we had a not so good day. A lot of appointments fell through. We contacted a bit and that is really it....
WED. and THURS my comp was sick with a fever of 101.5!! But we did get one cool lesson with a new investigator named karina. She's 17 and is Alfredos cousin. (hes a member) sweet! We had a way cool lesson and i strongly believe that she will be baptized really soon! So cool!
FRIDAY, today we visited a family of investigators. We gave them a couple of books of mormon to read. One of them, sandra, had a lot of questions about how to know which of all the churches is the true church of god! cool! Great lesson. We are going to be teaching them this next week! sweet!
SATURDAY, we visited an investigator named brandon, 14, who came to church on sunday! He also gave us 2 references of his friends who we are going to start teaching too!!!! The fruits! finally! Even though i am going to be leaving probably... my comp will have a couple of baptisms this next transfer!
SUNDAY, was great. A sister missionary just got home from her mission and bore her testimony. Soooo cool. The spirit was really strong. Then we had a baptism! A little girl who is 8. She is from a member family that we have been teaching these last few weeks. It was great, but all the pictures that i took this last week got erased some how. I dont know. I am going to try to restore them. One elder says he knows a guy so we will see, but ya, then after the family gave me a ukulele. is that how you spell it? Super cool .  They are awesome. I am going to miss them.
Well thanks everyone! sorry its a little short, had some techn. problems. Gotta luv the technology down here. haha. have a great next week! i love you all!

OPERATION SMILE! Email 12/8/2014

MONDAY, December!!! and p day! well this p day was a little boring. We went help some elders move rooms and there were a ton of elders and just a little bit of work. so ya. oh well. its still service i guess!
TUESDAY, we had district mtg, the usual. Then after we went to visit a new investigator, but her aunt was outside and when we asked if the girl was there she said... get out of here!!! You arent welcome here!!! That made me feel great..... then we had a fhe with a less active family. We invited them to go to church and they ended up going! wahoo!
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY we got to do a huge service project with Operation Smile! which is a program for kids with cleft lips and pallets, if that is what it is called. I cant remember. haha, but it took all day, both days. . I will send some pics!
FRIDAY, we helped paint a house. Fun! Then we taught a new investigator named Brandon who wants to be baptized in the future, oh he is 25 by the way, but we need his parents to sign a permission slip. Everything has its order! but cool! He will be baptized in the future!
SATURDAY, we visited some people. I actually forgot to write in my journal this day, sorry. but i will update it tonight! No worries!
SUNDAY, we had church! It was great! I love fast and testimony meeting. You can always feel the spirit! Then after we went to visit Steve's dad, who we have been teaching a bit, and as we get there, we see a funeral and it turns out that his dad, with whom we had the appointment, died yesterday in a car crash.... so sad. We gave Steve the plan of salvation to read and study and something really cool, Steve told us that now he really wants to be baptized so that he can do the baptisms for the dead, but for his dad. So cool, but so sad. Wow. we weren't expecting that.  After, we got to watch the Christmas devotional which was great! I loved the music especially, it made me a little trunky.
Well thanks everyone for everything! I love you all! Have a great next week!

Thanksgiving Peruvian Style! Email 12/2/2014

ok so this week...
On p day we did a couple of different things, we played dodgeball with toilet paper rolls, we played a little volleyball and frisbee and soccer of course. It was a blast.
Then during the week we had a couple lessons with some of the new investigators that we have. The only problem is that they havent been coming to church. So this next week we are going to focus on getting them to church because they need to go in order to progress to baptism. One lesson that we did have with a less active I felt the spirit very strongly. Every time that we had taught him a scripture came to my mind. I never shared it though because the conversation changed or because the scripture was strongly worded if you know what i mean. But during the lesson i ended up sharing it and i felt the spirit so strongly. I knew that it was what he needed. Something that he needed to change. So now we will see if he actually applies it. but i know that we have done our part in teaching.
Another lesson we had was cool, it was actually a contact that we had done, but he let us in his house. We didnt have much time but we taught him and his sister. His name is Marcos and his sister is Lesley. They had a lot of questions. They really arent members of any church. Well, i mean they dont go to any church, but it was cool because i could tell that Lesley could feel the spirit in a way. She could see the light that we had. I am excited to keep teaching them.
On sunday elder haught was way sick. I actually stayed in the room with him all day and my comp did exchanges with elder otriz so that they could go to all the appointments in both areas. It was a nice rest. haha. We talked, studied, slept a little. It was nice.
Thanks everyone for everything! I Love You All!!!! have a great next week!
